This enhanced firmware needs a key file only available to customers who purchased from http://www.himedia.com.au.

The current enhanced firmware supports ABC iView, SBS Video Player, PLUS7, NineMSN Fixplay, One, Ten, Eleven, Video Hits, NineMSN Video, NineMSN MovieFix and NineMSN MusicFix and NineMSN Videos.

BIG YAWN... all metered content...

Will the coming firmware fix the bugs and extreme annoyances in the current firmware???

Hey HiMedia, how about answering that question for your *existing* customers who are  Angry and fed up with the crappy firmware and sick of being ignored??? Or have you donned your cone of silence again?

(Of course based on history, I expect no answer from HiMedia)

Will it be crippled by Himedia in Australia to prevent clones from using it?

I note that Hdmediacentre on Ebay is now stating "The new firmware now supports TPG IPTV and SBS Video."
Hopefully this promise is a little closer to delivery than some of the earlier forecasts?

Well Im stoked about iview.  I cant wait.

Ok now, Dez and dw9 play nice.  Dw9 I understand your frustration - but I suspect that it is Himedia Australia's time/money that's being invested in this.

Sorry, the enhanced firmware will not work on the units that sold by other resellers. We invested time and resources to develop the new features for our customers. We are not going to let other resellers make use of it for free. Hope you can understand. However EVERYONE is welcomed to join this forum.

Watch iView is unmetered for serveral ISPs including iiNet.

From http://www.abc.net.au/tv/iview/,

iview is unmetered on the following ISPs:

AARNet
Adam Internet
Apex Internet (TransACT customers only)
Cinenet
Comcen/SPIN
iiNet
Internode
iPrimus
Westnet
Spectrum Networks

The ABC is in negotiation with other ISPs to offer ABC iview unmetered to their customers
